“Life is like a sewer – what you get out of it depends on what you put into it.” —Tom Leher, noted Harvard mathematician and satirist…among other things.

What Mr. Leher observed about life can also be said of your boat – what you get out of it depends on what you put into it. While it may seem like a cruel trick to tell you this now that you may already be a boat owner… this statement is true. Whether we are talking about reliability, resale or your pleasure….the amount of care (and money) invested in your vessel will have a direct impact on how much you’ll ultimately get out of your floating investment.

PM3Having decades of experience in the world of servicing and repairing vessels, at KKMI we know all too well that no two boats are the same, nor are their owners. This is particularly the case when it comes to an owner’s preferences in maintaining their vessel. We experience quite a spectrum of inclinations – for some owners, EVERYTHING aboard must be absolutely “shipshape” – while others say, “If it’s not broken…don’t fix it.” As boat owners we can certainly appreciate both of these sentiments – depending on the item in question.

This is where KKMI’s Project Managers (PM’s) come in. They help you, the boat owner, navigate the spectrum of decisions that must be made to properly maintain your vessel. To assist you through this process every boat owner doing business with KKMI is assigned a dedicated PM. The PM is responsible for making sure that you and your boat are properly cared for while doing business with KKMI. More than a “go to” person, your PM will make sure all of the work is; executed correctly, delivered within the time frame specified, and at the cost previously agreed upon. It’s also the PM’s job to guide you, the vessel owner, in planning your boat’s future maintenance needs over the long-term.

PM5We are very proud to say, our PM’s are among the most professional people you will ever have the pleasure of dealing with in the industry. As maritime professionals, our PM’s have a deep understanding of what it takes to look after your vessel – as boat owners themselves, they are equally sensitive to the associated costs. We encourage our owners to use their PM’s as the incredible resource that they are. From racing, to cruising – fishing, to commercial vessels – you name it – KKMI’s Team of PM’s have the expertise to make sure your vessel will be safe and reliable. Let our PM’s help you avoid needlessly flushing money down the drain.

I’d also like to share with you, that like your vessel, there are a great many moving parts in operating a maritime service facility such as ours. While it is our objective to guide every boat owner as best we can through this spectrum of maintenance options, on the rare occasion these parts need extra lubrication. This is also where your PM again really comes into play. Let your PM know anytime you feel things might be not running as smoothly as you expect. Also please know, that Ken Keefe, Cindy Revel and I (the partners in KKMI) are always looking for your input as well. Please don’t hesitate to contact us.
