Environmental
To our valued clients:
We are dedicated to protecting the environment. For those of us in the marine industry, this means always employing the best management and environmental practices and complying not only with laws and regulations, but the spirit within which they were written. To insure our ability to live up to these high standards, we ask our clients to participate in the investments.
Effective January 1, 2008 all KKMI services will have a 2% environmental protection fee added to the total charges. Thank you for your participation in keeping our waters and sky blue and supporting our commitment to being a "green" company.
The costs of protecting our environment are significant, but well worth the investment. Our company works with Federal, State, Regional and City agencies to insure the highest standards are always met. In fact, it is this commitment that led to KKMI being awarded both environmental and industry awards.
Our investment started with the development of our purpose built facility, which included designing proper drainage, catch basins, wash down areas and enclosed work areas. We then went on to invest in providing our craftsmen with the best equipment necessary to maintain the facility, including industrial sweepers, vacuum sanders and many other environmentally friendly tools. The investment continues on a daily basis in the training, supervision and monitoring of all environmental standards.
KKMI cooperatively works with all regulatory agencies. Most charge fees for their services. Those principally responsible for environmental protection include:
- Environmental Protection Agency, Federal & State
