Discovery Channel Commerical Shoot with Zac Sunderland
In September, KKMI was approached to be the filming site for a segment of the Discovery Channel commerical “The World Is Just Awesome”. The commercial features the stars of their programs, including World Record breaker, Zac Sunderland who’s Documentary will air on the Channel. The 35 person strong crew spent most of a Saturday at the yard preparing and shooting for the segment. The spot with Zac is 2 seconds long, at 0:12 after the Deadliest Catch guys. With the help of KKMI's Marc Crotto and David Griffith, the Crew got up the massive Green Screen for the shot.
Zac is on board another Islander 36, as his was outfitted for singlehanded ocean sailing, not modeling.
Complete with misters, dry ice and wardrobe they get Zac set up for the shot.
A light rigged to a Snorkel Lift mimics the moon's light.
And the rest is Hollywood!
